Wine, Women and Shoes

The inaugural Wine, Women and Shoes event kicked off the 2014 Spring season with a bang that was as loud as the guest’s heels on the marble floor of the event’s venue, the Henry Clay. With fine wines and bourbon on hand, designer fashions and some of the city’s most stylish women decked out in their favorite pair of heels, the night was definitely one to remember.

The evening started with delicious appetizers that were paired with select wines and bourbon tastings. While sipping spirits and enjoying what the local chefs had to offer, guests were also invited to peruse the Marketplace, which featured designer pieces from Saks Fifth Avenue. If anyone’s feet started to feel a bit tired from all the shopping festivities, they had the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary foot rub from the staff at Elements Massage.

However, the real reason for the gathering was to contribute to the efforts at Family Scholar House. Since opening it doors in 1995, this charity has provided housing and educational support for those who are in the midst of achieving their four-year college degree. After Saks Fifth Avenue presented a spring-inspired fashion show, which featured pieces from Michael Kors, Escada, Yigal Azrouel and Versace (to name a few), a live auction and a closet raffle for a $15,000 shopping spree were up for grabs, all for the sake of raising funds and awareness for this local cause.
