Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky Pageant

The Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky committee and its partner, Frazier Rehab Institute, held the 16th annual Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky Pageant Oct. 27 at Holiday Inn Louisville East on Hurstbourne Lane. The Voice-Tribune’s Managing Editor Angie Fenton emceed the event.

Instead of a beauty contest, the organization holds the competition each year in order to select an accomplished and articulate spokesperson for millions of disabled Americans. Candidates were judged based on accomplishments, communication and public relation skills, and self perception and projection.

Heather Markham was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Kentucky. Markham will travel the state during her reign to spread a message of achievement and advocacy.
