The Lincoln Foundation’s Evening of Jazz took place Aug. 24 at Churchill Downs.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer received Lincoln Foundation’s most prestigious honor, the Spirit of Excellence Award. Contemporary jazz recording artist Marcus Johnson, a Billboard-ranked keyboardist, headlined the evening. The Voice-Tribune’s Angie Fenton emceed.
Proceeds from the 17th annual event benefited the Whitney M. YOUNG Scholars Program, Lincoln Foundation’s signature educational program.
