The Trinity Shamrocks (3-3) overcame the St. Xavier Tigers (4-3) 29-17 with the help of quarterback Reggie Bonnafon in front of a raucous crowd of 27,000 at Papa John’s Cardinals Stadium. This Shamrocks victory marks the seventh straight win in the storied rivalry– taking a 38-36-2 lead in the series.

Completing 14 of 20 passes, Bonnafon threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Donald Brooks rushed for 114 yards from 23 carries, notching two touchdowns, while also catching for 34 yards and a TD to surge past St. Xavier in the second half.

St. Xavier, who started with quarterback B.J. Nagle, struggled as the senior completed just 6 of 19 pass attempts, throwing for a single touchdown and two interceptions. And without leading rusher Charles Walker, or the injured Treyveon Percell to lean on, replacement Austin Davis could only muster 99 yards from rushing.
