Local Standout Pryce Sparrow will be the Main Event at The Gillespie

In attendance will be Roy Jones Jr., legendary boxer since turned boxing trainer and promoter. Roy Jones Jr Boxing will promote the April 19 fight card at The Gillespie, in downtown Louisville. The boxing card will be headlined by local boxing prodigy Pryce Sparrow, recently ranked #2 in the USA prior to his decision to turn professional.
The fight card will be complete with a few of Roy Jones trained fighters as well as additional local fighters, some of which will be announce Tuesday.
Jones trains over fifteen boxers at his gym, on his farm, in Pensacola, Florida. The prospects come from all over the world.
ROY JONES JR. was world champion at Middleweight, Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight (undisputed) and Heavyweight. In 2003, Jones became the first former Middleweight World Champion to become Heavyweight World Champion in over 106 years when he beat John Ruiz to win the title. He is the only boxer EVER to make his professional debut at junior middleweight to go on to become heavyweight champion of the world. As Undisputed Light Heavyweight World Champion, Jones made seven successful defenses. Roy was the consensus No. 1 Pound-for-Pound boxer from mid 90’s thru the early 2000’s.
