Tiger Cub and Mom Make Public Debut at Louisville Zoo

Louisville Zoo

After weeks of bonding behind-the-scenes, Sumatran tiger mother Jingga and her 2-month-old male cub are now ready to make their public debut. The pair will be viewable daily on rotation in the Islands outdoor Banjar habitat starting today.

This is a special occasion, as the cub’s birth on July 23 marked the first tiger birth at the Louisville Zoo in more than 20 years. While the cub is currently unnamed, the Zoo recently announced a naming contest presented by Norton Children’s. The public is invited to vote on three name options at louisvillezoo.org/namethecub, with the winning name to be announced soon.
