Louisville Zoo
Job Fair
On Saturday, Jan.25, the Louisville Zoo will host its annual seasonal job fair in the Islands Pavilion Gheens Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Zoo is seeking outgoing, highly motivated individuals who enjoy working with the public to fill seasonal positions in various departments. Positions are available in admissions, animal departments, education, events, front desk, guest services, horticulture, marketing, membership and rides & attractions. Candidates will receive training in their area. All applicants must be at least 16 years old. Animal, marketing and education departments have additional education and experience requirements.
For available full and part-time positions at the Zoo, visit louisvillezoo.org/hr for information and to apply.
Punch’s 55th Birthday
Punch’s 55th will be a “Red Hat Society” birthday to celebrate “Fun, Fitness and Friendship at 55!” Zookeepers will create special enrichment themed after the iconic red hats. The Zoo also encourages guests to wear their own red hats in honor of Punch’s final birthday at the Zoo before she goes on her new adventure.
Red is a fitting color for Punch as Asian elephants are considered endangered on The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species with population estimates ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 in the wild, with continued decline mainly caused by habitat loss, human-elephant conflict and poaching.
Special Admission Discounts (Offers cannot be combined.)
Guests wearing red hats will receive $1 off general admission at Zoo ticket windows.
Participate in Wild Winter Days by bringing one non-perishable food item per person to receive discounted tickets: $10.50 for adults and $7.50 for children and seniors.
