Love is in the air as the Zoo’s resident power couple, polar bears Qannik (kuh-nick) and Borealis (“Bo”), are in the midst of their breeding season. The Zoo is celebrating with a special Valentine’s Day party! Qannik and Bo will enjoy special enrichment themed after the romantic holiday, with items specially crafted by Zoo Buddies kids and zookeepers.
Docents will be available to share conservation tips and biofacts about polar bears. In addition, guests will also receive valuable information on how to protect polar bears in the wild. For those still searching for a unique Valentine’s gift, Qannik and Bo are available for “adoption” through the Zoo’s ADOPTS (Animals Depend on People to Survive) program.
