The 2013 Speed Ball

Louisville’s premier spring gala, The Speed Ball, celebrated the 40th installment of the ever-popular event with a sold out crowd at The Gillespie on March 2.

Guests were treated to a culinary feast elegantly crafted by Chef Dean Corbett, as well as cocktails, dessert and a night of dancing to the music of Indigo, a Ken Arlen orchestra.

The black tie and white tie evening paid homage to the past chairs of The Speed Ball, chaired this year by Jonathan and Tracy Blue. Bittners President Douglas Riddle served as creative director. Ron Wolz of Bittners served as design chair.

Brown-Forman and Heaven Hill Distilleries presented the 2013 Speed Ball, with support from The Glenview Trust Company, Dinsmore and Sterling G. Thompson Company, and exclusive media sponsorship from The Voice-Tribune.

As The Speed Art Museum’s largest fundraiser, The Speed Ball supported the museum’s many education programs, exhibitions and family activities.
