The 138th running of the Kentucky Derby attracted the largest crowd in history. The unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon was not enough to deter the massive crowd that made its way out to Central Avenue. Now that I’ll Have Another has taken his place in the history books, life in Kentucky is somewhat back too normal. Kids are beginning to feel the summer itch as school nears the home stretch. The end of the school year is an exciting time; students look forward to summer vacation and parents get a break from the every day grind of schoolwork. This is also the time with The Voice-Tribune team turns its focus and begins setting the stage for Best Dressed.
We’re continually asked, “How are you going to top last year’s event?†This is a challenge we thrive on. Forging a friendship in the workplace can be tricky, but the bond our BD team has is unique. We’ve worked closely together for more than three years and all of us share the spotlight. As the time nears when the curtain is drawn back, life in the Marriott ballrooms can be filled with tension. But, we’re always working toward one goal – that The Voice-Tribune’s Best Dressed is the event of the year!
Over the next several weeks we need our readers to get involved in the voting process. We’ve made it simple and trouble-free for you to cast your vote for the woman, man and couple who will walk the runway at this year’s event on Aug. 25 at the Marriott Downtown. You may vote once a day every day for one woman, one man and one couple until May 31. Visit our website today at www.voice-tribune.com and make your vote count. It’s a fun way for everyone to feel apart of the making of BD2012.
Once the voting process is complete, we will begin revealing the nominees – starting June 7 – and will continue throughout the summer months.
