Whether you’re a fan of New Year’s Eve or not, there’s no denying that the quest to have a good time before the calendar bumps up one more digit tends to be the singular thing on everyone’s minds. While some may prefer a quiet night on the couch, others, without fail, will venture into the cold wearing their finest to seek an evening of revelry.
Well, if you’re in the mood for a party, then you’ve come to the right place because here at The Voice-Tribune we’ve got you covered when it comes to the best parties in Louisville on New Year’s Eve. If a final blow-out is what you’re looking for in the last glimmering remnants of 2014, and you want to usher in 2015 with a bang, then we’ve got you covered with our guide to the best parties that our fair city has to offer.
While it may seem a slight conflict of interest, we would love to see as many of you as possible at the Mellwood Arts Center to bring in the New Year because we here at The Voice-Tribune have sponsored this event and want it to be a night of memories, dancing and the best annual send-off that you’ve had in a long time.
“When we organized this party, we said we wanted it to have the best band in Louisville and the best DJ in Louisville,†explains promoter Joey Wagner of the J Wagner Group. “And we got that with Tony and The Tan Lines, who have a huge following in this city, and DJ K-Dogg who is well known throughout town as the official DJ of the University of Louisville athletics department and who performs at every UofL football and basketball game.â€
“This is going to be a great night because Tony and The Tan Lines are renowned for getting the crowd involved and up on their feet. And the fact that we have a top-shelf open bar makes it even better.â€

If you’re looking for something a little more retro than the modern stylings of the Mellwood Arts Center, then look no further than The Ice House and their evocation of The Golden Age and Old Hollywood. Better still, a portion of this year’s proceeds will go to the YMCA Safe Place Services.
“Since 1974, YMCA Safe Place Services has sought to provide the most basic needs of shelter, food and support for our community’s teens,†explains Natalie Dedas, Sales and Events Coordinator at The Ice House. “From youth mentoring and family mediation services, to street outreach initiatives and trauma-informed care, Safe Place has redefined how our community addresses the needs of youth who are at risk of running away, becoming homeless or engaging with the justice system.â€
