A Celebration With Style

Splendid Events, LLC

Cassandra Stewart and Dr. Andrew Jones Jr. were friends for many years before they became “a couple.” It was evident that he adored her, and that their wedding day, Oct. 20, 2012, was the happiest day of her life. Although it rained that day, the sun was definitely shining inside the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage.

Fuchsia and chocolate were everywhere. The venue was beautiful and classy, just like the bride and groom. We lit the rotunda pink and prominently displayed an ice sculpture with the symbols from Cassandra’s sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Andrew’s fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., for all to see.

Guests were invited to participate in the ceremony held amongst crystal columns and draping, while seated in rows of chairs covered in chocolate with beautiful fuchsia bows tied to the side. Bridesmaids in fuchsia and groomsmen in chocolate completed the look.

Sheryl Rouse Crawford serenaded the stunning bride as she walked down the aisle. Tears were flowing as the bride’s childhood pastor officiated the service.

After the ceremony, the guests proceeded to the “pit” area to enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails of their choice, followed by a lavish buffet dinner catered by Sincerely Yours. The happy couple cut and tasted their incredible wedding cake, then heartfelt toasts by loved ones welcomed them into the world of married life.

Andrew and Cassandra shared a special first dance together, then guests crowded onto the dance floor to celebrate into the evening. It was a Splendid Event!

Cassandra is retired from the State of Kentucky and Dr. Jones has his own
private practice.
