UofL Headed to College World Series

The University of Louisville secured a second consecutive trip to Omaha with Saturday’s 7-4 super regional victory over Kennesaw State.

Senior Cole Sturgeon cut the Owls’ lead to 1 in the 5th with a solo home run. Freshman Nick Solak then drove the ball deep to send Sturgeon, on base, and himself home for a 5-4 lead. In the 6th, Sturgeon singled with loaded bases to reach the final score.

A record 6,007 were in attendance at Jim Patterson Stadium for the game.

Louisville advances to face Vanderbilt in the College World Series. This will be the teams’ fourth meeting in six years in the NCAA tournament.
