The University of Louisville secured a second consecutive trip to Omaha with Saturdayâ€™s 7-4 super regional victory over Kennesaw State.
Senior Cole Sturgeon cut the Owlsâ€™ lead to 1 in the 5th with a solo home run. Freshman Nick Solak then drove the ball deep to send Sturgeon, on base, and himself home for a 5-4 lead. In the 6th, Sturgeon singled with loaded bases to reach the final score.
A record 6,007 were in attendance at Jim Patterson Stadium for the game.
Louisville advances to face Vanderbilt in the College World Series. This will be the teamsâ€™ fourth meeting in six years in the NCAA tournament.
