Notre Dameâ€™s kicker Kyle Brindza missed a last minute 32-yard field goal attempt to tie the game, handing Louisville a 31-28 victory in South Bend on Saturday.
Louisville quarterback Reggie Bonnafon ran in two touchdowns, while also completing a 21-yard pass to wide-receiver DeVante Parker for a third, finishing the game 8-31 for 180 yards.
Cards running back Brandon Radcliff finished the game with 136 yards rushing, while safety Gerod Holliman came away without an interception, leaving him one shy of tying for the NCAA record for interceptions in a single season (14).
The meeting was the first ever game between Louisville and Notre Dame in the two programsâ€™ history. The next time the two teams are scheduled to meet is on Sept. 2, 2019 in Louisville.
