Pet of the Week: Drake

Drake is a sweet eight-year-old hound mix available for adoption at the Kentucky Humane Society who longs to have a comfortable home to call his own. His eyes tell you just how appreciative he is to have your companionship. He’ll lean in to have his long hound doggy ears rubbed and paws for more since it has been so long since he has had a home. Drake is fearful of loud noises like cars and especially motorcycles and might benefit from having a mellow family with older children. Some dogs and cats scare him too, so he would prefer to meet the other furry friends in your life first. Drake has been moved to a number of different adoption sites, and he is tired of watching other dogs get to meet new people and go home without him. Not one person has asked to meet Drake, and his heart is heavy with disappointment as people come in and out, meeting and playing with other dogs while he sits and waits to be next but never is. Please give him a chance or at least visit him and give him some much deserved attention. Drake is neutered, micro-chipped, up-to-date on vaccinations and ready to go home. To learn more about Drake, meet him at the Kentucky Humane Society’s Main Campus at 241 Steedly Drive or call 366-3355. View all adoptable pets at kyhumane.org.
