The first Saturday in May is now a distant memory. But, before you kick back and recover from Derby weekend, another call for celebration is just around the corner.

On Sunday, May 12, families will gather to honor the leading ladies in their lives for Mother’s Day. Show your mom how much you appreciate her with a dazzling, spring bouquet of flowers from one of Louisville’s premier floral boutiques, Lloyd’s Florist.

The 41-year-old family-owned-and-operated business provides the finest floral arrangements and gifts for any occasion, with an exquisite inventory of fresh flowers, tropicals, plants, European/dish gardens, contemporary and traditional arrangements, high-style floral, silk or dried floral arrangements, an extensive gift line, gourmet and fruit baskets, greeting cards and candles.

The store also specializes in wedding arrangements and decor. “We do about 250 weddings a year and we specialize in the flowers, decorations,” said Mike Gaddie, co-owner of Lloyd’s Florist. “We also do chair covers, linens, we do tuxedos, we (have) a lot to do with weddings.” Lloyd’s Florist’s impressive resume doesn’t stop there. Gaddie is also involved annually with the famed Rose Parade that coincides with college football’s Rose Bowl. For more than a decade, he has created award-winning floats for the event and even worked on a decorated platform for the Super Bowl. With experience like that, imagine what Lloyd’s Florist can cook up for mom to make her feel like the most-prized mother on Sunday.

Lloyd’s Florist, 9216 Preston Highway, is open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more information, call 502.968.5428 or 1.800.264.1825 or visit www.lloydsflorist.net.
