Fashion View: Kim Charney

The Chic Sheet

What is your fashion view?
Fashion is a way to express yourself through colors, textures and styles, and a way to show your mood and destination whether it is for work or fun. It also allows you to take chances.

How do you describe your style?
My style generally leans towards conservative and effortless with dashes of trend and sophistication. I always like to feel put together, but with a bit of an edge, color and fun!

What are your favorite pieces?
Skinny jeans, purses, bags and jewelry by Summer Eliason and Amy Draper Design. I also prefer to wear a lot of black and add color through my accessories!

Where is your favorite place to shop?
I like to shop at boutiques mostly, my favorite being Rodeo Drive, and I love getting great pieces and styles from Anthropologie. I also believe in being fashionable at the gym, so I love the clothes at Pure Barre Summit and Lululemon because they are transitional items.

Who is your fashion icon, and why?
I don’t have a fashion icon. However, I never make big fashion decisions without my mom, so I would consider her my icon.

Why are you so passionate about fashion?
Fashion is exciting and a great way to express myself daily. I personally prefer to shop locally and support Louisville shops and boutiques. Whether I am dressing up or down, fashion allows me to always feel good on whatever mission I am setting out to accomplish, and helps me stand out in a crowd!
